And so it begins...

As we were driving home from the park today, Harrison said something to me that I expected to hear eventually, but that I was definitely not quite ready to hear yet:

"Mom, I want a dog."

As something of a pet-hater, I knew this was probably the beginning of a battle that I'm eventually going to lose. I don't know why I was so surprised, in light of this picture I took at my parents' house last week.

Wish me luck.

Stay strong! :) I am all about NO pets. My kids will get the "You will be just fine without a pet", speech from me until they move out.

That picture is AWESOME! I love and adore that child of yours! And amen to you and Britney -- the only way we are ever getting a dog is if we have a HUGE yard. So you know, it probably won't ever happen.

cute pic, so glad you finally posted again! I have nothing against dogs, obviously, but I would just say if you get one get one that is already potty trained and you know is good with kids (like a golden retriever). Don't get a puppy, or if you decide on a puppy wait til you are done having babies since puppies are a LOT of work. I can't wait to see more posts coming and I will do better with mine as well :).

I actually love dogs, but Scott says he'd rather have another child than a dog...they cost the same and use up the same amount of energy to take care of. He may have a point. However, I don't have to be pregnant or birth a dog...

A lot of parents don't want their kids to be happy, that's fine. Just kidding. But I think everyone can like a dog, you just have to find the right one. Also, does Harrison like wells? If so, getting him a dog might be the safest thing you can do.
